A childhood of blurry faces and dull pain. He's always been moving around, it's the only thing he remembers, from town to town, city to city, always surrounded by something new and fascinating. And always with a group of people, both young and old. They tell him that he's worth nothing, so much so that his own parents had thrown him into the gutter. They tell him that he ought to be grateful that he has come upon their protection, that disobedience was not tolerated, and neither was lazy work. He belonged to them now, they stated, and as such controlled his very life and being. They tell him a great deal of things, both true and untrue, and he believes most of them.

Eventually he, and several other children are brought into a more permanent facility, where he is assigned a room with several others as his sleeping quarters. They taught him how to fight, albeit he was taught how to take punches and not cry about it. At times they would pit him with children his own age, three versus one, the pain not-stopping even after their training session. They teach him how to seduce. How to stitch words together, be seductive as honey to retrieve what is desired, or be desired, depending on what is wanted. He is taught to survive, to strengthen his body and mind through rigorous training, going on for days on end until he feels as though his bones would break and his brain explode. He was not to break, he was ordered, not a word should slip his lips about anything. And if he had to die silent, then so be it. There were so many times that he thought that he would die. A broken arm was a common injury among them, and so were bruised faces. Anyone seen with so much as a tear was quickly dealt with.
