He hummed softly, throwing the rice up, only to catch it in the pan again, the loud sizzling of the rice mixed with the various sauces and spice filling the room with a pleasant sound and aroma. Cooking was one of his favorite past times, especially with his stressful job. It was relaxing. It helped him focus. Especially tonight. It was one of those rare times where the whole family, and those he considered family, came to eat dinner and enjoy some family bonding. That meant he got to cook twice as much and Kanashi and William will do their usual battle over who chose the movies. Ever since Mirun's oldest son got the Haunter removed from him, he had been more fragile and tired, so Kanashi couldn't fight him like usual. So, they settled it like intellectuals. The racket of pieces moving along a board and a timer being hit to begin the next turn joined the noise of the cooking. Chess was a wonderful way to settle their differences now. William got to stay out of the hospital and Kanashi avoided a nagging. "Check," William mumbled, hitting the clock. Mirun glanced at the board and shook his head. No no no, the boy had a perfect chance to go to checkmate instead if he just moved the Knight and went with a gambit. He poured the rice into two separate bowls. One vegetarian, the other he was going to put Torchic in. He threw several slabs of cut chicken onto the pan and let it simmer while he went over to watch the game, patting Mozart on the head. Kanashi spared his father a glance before moving a piece in the way of the Bishop, protecting his King. He hit the clock. William moved a Pawn closer to the other side, hoping to claim another Queen. Kanashi's Rook took the Pawn. The Bishop took the Rook. A Pawn took the Bishop. A smile came to Mirun's face. They always played differently when he watched. It was odd. Going back over to the stove to flip the chicken, he kept humming while he simmered it in the sauce. He was sure to prepare plenty of all types off food tonight. William had decided he was going to go on a vegetarian diet for a while. According to his psychologist, it would help him to focus more on his work and to keep him calmer. Whereas Kanashi was being forced onto a pure meat diet thanks to a sudden growth in his Pokemon side that required more meat to sustain. It was all fine, though. It just meant Mirun could cook more often than not, which was always welcome. Glancing at the clock, he wondered when Angel was going to arrive, and if he was going to be bringing his brother along. He asked Kanashi and William to look out for him, but Angel would be fine with his own Pokemon. Right? Right. No need to worry. -- ZER0 ; hope this is alright owo his muse is groggy

Father didn't need to know this- like, at all- but Angel... wasn't really digging the whole "journey" thing. Oh, sure, he appreciated the freedom, and his two Pokemon were behaving quite wonderfully, and things should have been going great. the thing was, growing up in the lab had made him... well, used to modern comforts. Mucking through forests and sleeping on the ground was not his idea of a great time, thank you very much. and yet he had to train his Pokemon before they could breed, and he was indeed a breeder. it wasn't exactly the glamorous deal that Father had going back in the lab, that was for sure. He was getting there. He'd get there eventually, really! But for now... he was crawling back to father's place with his tail between his legs. And that was alright. he hoped. besides, it was a family reunion! even if his breeding career wasn't going the way he planned, he wouldn't miss this for the world. little did he know that he wasn't going to be the only arbok there. raphael wasn't exactly sure how it had happened, other than apollo had come trotting up to him after one of his periodic disappearances, informing him that lachen had invited them to a party of sorts and that attendance was non-optional. raphael wasn't really sure how he felt about that, since the arcanine had downright refused to tell him who else would be there, but there was no getting between apollo and his benjamin. which meant he was leaving his other pokemon behind in the care of saggezza and following obediently behind the dog. he was lost in thought, trying to keep his nerves at bay, and was doing a decent job of it- until they rounded that final corner and he found himself staring at the figure of, you guessed it, his hated clone. his eyes widened, and he scrambled backwards, praying to arceus that he could make a quick and easy get away. but of course that wasn't fated to be. apollo gave a little growl and shoved him forward with his nose, sending him stumbling toward his "brother". his hissed protests were of no avail as his copy quickly noticed him, spinning around with a ridiculous grin, arms open wide. "ah, brother, so glad you could make it! father's been looking forward to spending some time with you." he pulled his unwitting brother into a tight hug, spinning him around a few times just to please the sadistic part of him that loved how the shy one squirmed. even when he ended the embrace he kept one hand clamped tightly on the other's arm, making sure there was no escape as he escorted his twin to the door. "thank you for arranging this, apollo dear~" the arcanine didn't even have the decency to look ashamed of himself when raphael shot him a glare and a hissed "traitor" under his breath. the trio was soon making their way to the door, angel opening it with a flourish and calling out loudly. "father~! we're home~!"--- ooc: omda i'm so sorry i don't remember how to rp /flails

There, dinner was done and the guest should be arriving soon. Mirun had settled down, the steaming food being kept warm by a few Slugma, to watch the rest of the game. Both of his boys were down to four pieces. Kanashi had a pawn close to the edge of the board, a bishop, his King and Queen, and a knight. William had his King and Queen, a bishop, a rook, and a pawn also nearing the edge of the other board. The clock was on two minutes and it was William's turn, but he didn't seem intent on moving. Kanashi had fooled him during the match, the boy pretending to be thinking about his move, sometimes moving his hand as if to move another piece, only to move it back and put on a lovely show of lying through facial expressions. Hehe, Mirun raised his blood child well. Tick, tock, tick, tock. The clock buzzed and Kanashi sat back in his chair with a large grin on his face. You could almost see the pleased Haxorus in him at the victory. "I win. We are watching The Ring tonight." William blinked and looked at the clock. His side had hit zero, Kanashi's five minutes behind. "Shit," mumbled William. That was the fourth time he fell for that trick. "Right, I'll give you some lessons, next time," Mirun purred, ruffling them both on the head while they set the table. "Kanashi, did you ask Benny to come?" He asked, tossing a glass bowl at Kanashi, who caught it and put it in the middle of the table, William tossing the salad. "I did, he's in my bedroom changing. Did you leave enough space for Apollo to sit and eat with us?" he asked back, blinking when he noticed Benjamen coming back from down the hall, dressed in some of Kanashi's clothes. Kanashi then kicked a chair away from the table, William catching it mid-skip and placed it against one of the other walls. There. The giant dog had a place to eat now. Counting the chairs again, Kanashi laid out the necessary silverware and platters, hearing Sirius and Albus begin to growl. Like clockwork, Mozart uncoiled like a large monster coming out of slumber and stalked silently towards the door, giving a small nod of hello to the guest that were there. Placing the rice on the table, Mirun darted to the door, Kanashi following him as the Haxorus nearly tackled the two in a hug. "Welcome back! Raphael, glad to see you can join us! We tried to keep the food close to your diets. If you eat like snakes that is," he purred out, going back to help William finish setting the table. Benjamen almost purred as he clung to Apollo's fur, happy to have the dog back. It felt weird to be in his human form around him but sometimes he had to be. "Raphael, sit wherever you want, there is enough room for Apollo to sit and eat with us as well. Glad you could come. Feel free to start eating. We won't be doing any blessings tonight." As if to make sure they were on the same page, he glanced at William, getting a small nod. Kanashi still didn't know about the DAC, or about the Dark Father himself, best he never knew, until Mirun deemed it time. There was rice mixed with eggs, greens, and sauce, then another bowl mixed with various types of meats. A roasted assortment of different meats he usually fed his Arbok was also on the table, along with several roasted berries, cold berries, and berries dipped in a sauce Mirun commonly used with Pokepuffs. Food for both humans, Pokemon, and Gijinka alike. Mirun didn't sit down yet. Instead already working on finishing the desert while William and Kanashi worked on separating the food. They knew they should eat as fast as they could, because once father sat down, chances are their food won't be used for eating, but instead who can hit who on the forehead first. -- ZER0 ; it was perfect <3 <3

he didn't mean to be ungrateful, really- there was someone inviting him into their house, into what appeared to be a family reunion of some sorts. why he was here was a tad beyond him, sure, but he shouldn't be complaining. that was why he was upset with his... clone anyway, right? because the other had a loving family, that he'd always been denied? he should be ecstatic. but... was it really wrong of him to be nervous? last time he'd seen these people he'd been drugged against his will and operated upon. and the haxorus gijinka was just plain mean, he remembered. why on earth benny and apollo insisted on associating with them was beyond him. but it never hurt to be polite, he supposed- and there was no way in giratina's hell he was going to risk making mirun mad. which meant... family dinner. joy. For the moment apollo was too busy snuggling with his benny to pay terribly much attention, which meant raphael was left to his own devices when his clone abandoned him in favor of giving kanashi a massive hug. wasn't that... cute. Raphael gave the other a hesitant smile, sneaking around Apollo and Benny's reunion and making for the nearest empty chair he could find. It was next to the empty space he assumed was for Apollo, which was encouraging. he could do this. Perhaps these people deserved a second chance after all. Apollo, for his part, was simply happy to see them all again, tail wagging madly as he did his best to nuzzle Benny's fragile human form. it was a tad awkward, sure, but he thought nothing of it, really- his Benny was his Benny. If anyone thought anything of it they didn't say anything, and that was good enough for him, thank you very much. He gave a sharp nod at the mention of prayer- raphael, too, was oblivious to the dark father's existence, and given his strong religious leanings (warped as they might have been by his creators) this was certainly not the time to get into any sort of debate. All that was really left to do was eat before food started flying, and so the arcanine trotted to his little spot- and laid his great head down on the table, giving the berries a wistful glance before giving Benny a pointed look. especially when living in a world of humans, sometimes it was quite convenient to have a mate with opposable thumbs... It didn't take long for angel to get into the swing of things, rushing to help his two brothers finish setting things up before plopping into a seat as well. "don't mind raphie there, he's just a tad shy. Isn't that right, brother~?" he purred and, predictably, raphael blushed. The clone laughed, reaching to fill his plate with meat even as he turned to his haxorus brother. "but really, ka-chan, it's been too long. How have you been~?" he could barely contain his excitement, it was just so good to have human (more or less) company again. He slyly reached for some of the squishier berries that he had no intention of eating- these looked like they would explode nicely if he needed to defend himself- and continued talking amicably. "father, William? you have to tell me everything that's been going on. I've just been dying all by myself, how's everyone been?"--- ooc: mrrr written on my phone please forgive terribleness :'D

Ah, everything seemed in place. Kanashi, despite winter almost coming, seemed happier than usual, probably because fall was upon them. That season was his favorite, the bright colored trees and the crisp autumn air that seemed to cover the Region in a mystical feel. Autumn really was amazing, the problem was when winter hit that things changed. Kanashi would grow sour and bitter in the desperate need to prove himself to a mate, something that would never happen since Mirun made sure to keep a tight leash on the Gijinka during that time. William seemed to have some problems when winter approached as well, almost as if the past Pokemon half of him was beginning to shift back and forth. Even though Mirun had payed close attention to William's reverse operation and recovery, something seemed to be stuck inside of him, forcing him to change every now and then when winter approached. At least he and Kanashi were on a schedule of sorts. Happy during the spring, summer, and fall, then horribly angry, pissed off, or depressed during winter. A normal schedule. Yup. Lachen put some of the berries on a plate and put the plate in front of Apollo, rubbing his ears happily. As long as the dog was happy, then he was happy. Mirun hummed to himself, finishing up everything before he sat down, tensing when he heard one of the guard Pokemon growling outside. Without speaking, he left the kitchen, William watching him go before he focused back on poking his salad. Kanashi watched his brother mess with the leaves, smiling at Angel. "Pretty well! I got accepted into the Phoenix Medical Academy, so I'll be continuing my studies in breeding there," he purred out, grabbing a piece of meat for himself. "And how have you been? And you, too, Raphael?" His ears perked up, turning around when the door opened and closed again, a bright smile and a new face entering the room. Kalani gave a small wave. "Hey! Mr. Mirun said I could join you guys! Plus, Mr. Raito wants me out of the base for setting the kitchen on fire... again." His smile grew brighter when he saw Raphael, and a matching Raphael! "Oh hey! Two Raphael-senpais!" He quickly took a seat by Angel staring at him intently. "So are you also Raphael-senpai?" Mirun smiled and sat in his seat, getting his own plate of food. Kanashi scarfed down the meat as fast as he could, William pushing an empty salad bowl away from him, both waiting for their father to start a family tradition. A food fight of epic proportions. Of course, he was being polite, and waiting for everyone else to finish at least one course before he started the fight. -- ZER0 ; ewe the word 'it' was not used once. Just cause Rex challenged me.
