Personality:
Oliver, or Olly, is a very kindhearted individual. His heart is warm like his body and he can't help but be so playful and loving to everyone. Evil, bad, or sweet and sad. However, he does take after his mother some. He has a hot temper when you each it, and he is always looking for a way to prove himself. A way to show that he is not some weak kid. His anger, however, unlike his mother, is not easy to get to. He will play most things off as a joke and laugh everything off. But if you get to that peak. He turns into a mini Professor Flame and wants to rip you to shreds with his bare hands.
Being a sweet one when he wants to, he is stubborn and won't really give up. On anything. If he sets his eyes on that new video game, he will kick, scratch, and bite his way to get the money to get it. His kindness means that he will probably tackle you in hugs often and, if he had a tail, it would be wagging like mad. He literally wants to hug everyone he meets. In a way, he has no sense of personal space. And he will hug you until you hug him back. If you don't? Good luck getting out of his arms. He won't give up on you and he will hug you into surrender. Literally, he lives after his mother's Arcanine who raised him more than the woman did.
Being hard to make angry, that doesn't mean it is impossible. It takes a lot of effort to tick him off. He is usually calm and just playing things off as a joke. However, once you do make him mad, his temper burns as bright as his red hair does. He will rather box with you like his mom would rather than fight like a Pokemon. Thankfully, he knows how to release his anger so he doesn't hurt anyone or catch anything on fire, unlike his mother. He will use a tree as his personal punching bag, letting his hands break first rather than stop while he is still angry. When he does get to that point, he thinks he is more of a monster than a human being.
He is very loyal, and very quickly. Although, that loyalty can be easily severed if he finds out the one he is loyal to is hurting other people. He says his strength comes from his loyalty and from his love of others, not from his Pokemon side. The dog agrees with this. He is not a balanced, or perfect individual. Since he trust to easily, he can be easily manipulated, but he is not stupid. He can quickly figure out if words said to him are real or fake, but if he feels like he cares about the person, he may not be able to believe that something is a lie.
Being honest is one of Olly's biggest issues and what Marshmallow says is his greatest asset. He is an honest boy that will try to tell the truth, but even he will lie if he sees that it is in his or your best interest. He is rash and straightforward when he wants something, thinking it better to just say something other than hide behind excuses. This makes him get hit a lot and gets a lot of people to get mad at him. But he will still say what he wants very clearly, not wanting to lie about it or put it off. Worrying about things is not what he is used to. To him, worrying is something that will take away life from you, so why worry? If he was to worry, he would probably go to far with it and over think things.
Having the accent he got from his mom, he can't hide it as well as she can. He will add a 'ya' or a 'da' to the end of sentences without realizing it, then get flustered if someone mentions it or if he realizes it. He tries to hide his accent, like his mother does so well, but even he lets it slip out like she does.
Some would call him a 'bad boy' with the way he looks and dresses, but that is not the case at all. The way he dresses comes from the Pokemon he has been combined with. If he didn't wear the cloak, he would probably set himself on fire and no one would want that, even if it wouldn't hurt him. But his mother got sick of buying him new clothes once every day. So, they made him the cloak. It would help to keep his normal clothes from not catching on fire, however, this new look caused some problems. He got arrested a lot for looking like a 'punk'. As soon as his mother heard about this, the police that arrested him didn't walk for a few months, or leave the hospital.
Being trained to fight by his mother in traditional, human methods, he learned how to deliver a good punch, but also how to keep a cool head in a fight. Yes, his mother knew how to keep a cool head while fighting. This helps Olly out very much when he is in a fight with humans. He can't scorch them with his Pokemon abilities, and getting angry will just cause more harm to him since he will drop his defenses and get hit.
In a nut shell, he his a kind, fun loving, gentle, calm, and warmhearted individual that is stubborn when he finds something to fight for. However, even he has his limits and his anger can be something no one wants to tamper with. He also has a deep love of trying to master the fire he controls and create moving images out of them, but that is just a side hobby. He tries to be affectionate and warm to all people that he meets, even if it is hard with some of them.
History:
Oliver was born from an experiment that involved his ever odd mother, Professor Flame. So, let's start there. As soon as Flame was kicked out of her spot of the Champion title, she took to the life of being a Professor, not due to her choice. But with no longer being a Champion, she didn't have an income. She was desperate for money. During this time was when she found her first job, working for Mr. M as the Region Professor and helping to bring in the new generation of Pokemon Trainers. This wasn't the most exciting of jobs, but she could wrestle with the Pokemon. This allowed her to take out her anger. The rest of the story comes in when she went to the gym one day to practice.
It was a rather rainy day and she was spending time at her favorite punching bag, in short, she was beating the hell out of it. She had had a lot of stress that day, and needed to let it out. Right before the gym was going to close, she left, walking home. Her Pokemon being on her belt. While she walked, she noticed she was being followed. Not the best of places to be tracked, walking back to the lab. So, she took a random turn into an ally way and wasted no time in taking out her one weapon she was good at besides a traditional sword, nun-chucks. What? You really expected her to go anywhere without her weapons somewhere on her body? Silly you. This is Professor Flame we are talking about. Anyway, she fought like hell in the alleyway, beating nearly half of the people that were following her to near death.
However, she was defeated by a well placed tranquilizer dart. Defeated, the ones still breathing dragged her off to the hidden labs. No one knew she was missing, until several trainers couldn't obtain their starter Pokemon. Thus, Mr. M and Flame's two closest colleges took to looking for her. Back where Flame was, the kidnappers apparently needed someone they thought was strong enough to carrying a new experiment. And they chose Flame. They thought her body would be able to handle a new type of operation, but she fought back, her immune system refused to accept whenever they gave her. So, they tried something else, they impregnated her with the experiment. Apparently her body accepted it. They kept her with them for sixteen weeks, until Thornfield found them.
By that time, it was to late, the experiment was apparently going well. While Flame wanted an abortion, Mr. M and Mirun refused to let her get one. If she was to kill the fetus, then she herself might die. The child was to attached to her body in order to be simply removed. Not only that, but Mr. M had taken an interest in the child Flame was carrying. Flame, on the other hand, was not interested, but felt like, as a forced mother, that she needed to carry the child with her. Despite her vow when she was younger to never be like a normal woman, she had to be a mother. Not the best choice in mothers, that was the first mistake the scientist made. The second mistake was letting Thornfield find them. To say in short, none of the scientist lived and Thornfield had a few things to add to her trophy case.
After Flame could get an ultrasound, she found out the child was a boy, and decided to go ahead and name him. Thinking about it carefully, she decided to name him names from her own culture. A small mix of German and Russian. Flame didn't speak either one often, given she learned how to make her accent fit the area she was in, but she took pride that they child would continue on her name. Mirun took blood samples from her and the child, using his medical knowledge to see what the kid was. He was a Gijinka. It was around this time that Mirun's own son was in development, even though he didn't realize the child would be his.
Finally, Flame gave birth. Thornfield and Mr. M were there, but Mirun was busy dealing with the fact that another experiment was his own child. The birthing came as a shock. The boy was born with bright red hair like his mother, but with turquoise eyes. Not only that, but he may or may not have set the nursing room on fire when he sneezed. The initial plan of Flame to give the child to Mr. M to find a good home for him vanished. He was a fire type. A fire type. And more importantly, an Arcanine. It was then and there, while the doctors were screaming to put out the fire, that Flame decided that she would raise the boy.
As soon as Oliver was three years old, he learned how to spout embers from his mouth, with the help of Marshmallow, his mother's ever loyal Arcanine. While his mother worked, Oliver played with several toys she had got for him. He even accompanied her when she would wrestle rowdy Pokemon under her care. His mother was a role model to him. Even thought he was three, he was smart. He knew who everyone was and could name every fire type there was. One day, right before he turned four, he met Mirun's own son. It wasn't a play date, but it was there that Oliver learned that he could control fire with his hands. The slightest finger movement could make a flame twist in the air and do his bidding. It was rather fun.
When he was ten, his mother finally decided to send him to school. You can imagine how well that went. Oliver was quickly kicked out for, by the teachers words, being a freak. That teacher ended up in the hospital not even an hour after such words were said. There is a reason Flame doesn't go into town much anymore, after all. Not knowing what to do, she needed to teach her son something. So, she turned to Thornfield. The old woman took Oliver under her care and taught him everything she learned from her private tutors. Being a smart boy, Oliver learned quickly, making Thornfield actually, dare she say it, proud. She also taught the boy manners and some basic martial arts so he had movements to use with his fire.
As Oliver turned eighteen, his mother finally let him leave the lab to go out into the world. He was strong enough to survive in most places and was more than capable of surviving. Especially since Flame got him the fire proof cloak so he wouldn't be running around naked everywhere. His mother was more than confident that he would be fine, but still ask him to keep in touch. Even Flame worries about her own child. So, thee Oliver was, new to many things in the world, but already having a basic understanding of them at the same time.
