Personality:
Maia is a person that will do what will benefit her in the end. The basics of her always lead back to the same thing: what will benefit her. On the outside, she is cold but warm when she has to be. It switches. Beside her switching warm and cold behavior, she adores pain just as much as her boss does. However, she is not one that enjoys it on herself, but enjoys inflicting it on others. If someone was to try and hurt her, she would simply do the same to them while her snake went to work nomming on their body.

With her boss's patients, she is warm, friendly, caring, and only seeming to want to do everything to make them more comfortable. She will gladly give them more anesthesia without the doctor's orders and care for them while they are in pain. Always having a soft smile on her face. her touches are gentle and she is more than willing to let a patient talk to her to help ease their pain. She will even explain the whole procedure, something that every now and then her precious boss forgets to talk about. Well, that is what her excuse to the patients is.

Other wise, she is cold and angry towards everyone, especially her boss. Of course, she always has a seductive air about her, but she says it helps her keep her lovely charm. When she is not being friendly with patients, she will usually have a sly or evil smile/smirk on her lips. She is always planning something. A way to get what she wants in the end. She is a sly little devil that would rather stab someone in the back than deal with them.

Her studies take up most of her time, doing simple duties she is told to do. This just edges her on more to get what she wants. And what does she want? To complete the study of Gijinkas and Shifters under her boss. Thus, why she is careful about when she is around the lab. Her sneaky ways won't really work much in the current place she is in, but she will try her best to get by.

In the very end, she is a sneaky snake that is hard to figure out once you first meet her. Getting past her deceitful ways is a tough job, but she finds that lying is the easiest way out of any situation.


History:
Maia was born in a family of farm workers that struggled to get by. She worked on the farm with her family, having to help keep the herds calm and such. It was during this time that she had met per precious partner, Medusa, the shiny Ekans. The girl always was fond of snakes, loving them deeply. And nothing interest her more than snake Gijinka. A human combined with a snake, it was amazing. She spent the days in the meadow with the herds playing with her precious snake, making herself slowly immune to the poison by accident. It was helpful to her, but worrying to her parents. Over time, Maia discovered that she wanted to go into science.

Having read some books she got for her birthday, she developed a love for science and wanted nothing more than to learn more. The only problem? Her parents didn't have the money, they could barely afford to send her to school. Having her love for learning science crushed by the fact they couldn't afford it, she decided to earn money her own way: stealing. She went into town with her precious Ekans and pulled off the 'lost child' act and ended up getting a lot of money. Enough to buy more medical books and other scientific readings. She discovered through further study that she adored the DNA and genetics. She studied for so long and for so long.

By the time she was sixteen, instead of wanting normal gifts, she wanted more books. Her parents were more than happy to comply. She kept studying, reading, and learning everything she could. It was during this time she discovered how cold humans were towards their Pokemon. One day while she was studying in the forest, enjoying a day off, her Ekans over heard a ruckus. Quickly, she hurried towards the noise, her snake right by her. Watching a battle, she witnessed several trainers ganging up on a mother Pokemon and her newly hatched children. The Persian fought hard, finally getting beat. She watched while her babies were taken from her, the mother left there to suffer. In pity, Maia tried to see if she could heal the mother, finding no way. Even though it hurt her, she told her snake to put the cat out of her misery.

Maia then decided that never would she hold her Ekans hostage. She released the Pokemon. However, Medusa didn't leave her, the snake stayed right by her side, the only difference was that she was free to be with her master. Once she turned twenty, she discovered a Pokemon that was growling at her violently, her snake defending her. If she knew what the Pokemon was saying, then things would have been easier. Next thing she knew, she was taken to the Jungle, meeting the DAC. Her eyes widened in joy as a true smile came over her face. She begged to join, when the original plan was for her to be a sacrifice. But the Dark Lord saw her potential, and began to use his wife as a translator.

Later that same day, Maia met her boss. Stein. She then began to work for the man, her dream come true. She was happy and at peace. Studying genetics and Gijinka, even something called Shifters. It was while she was in the DAC that her Ekans evolved into a loyal Arbok, helping her with her studies by providing her good company. The two are never seen away from each other. Of course, she always keeps an eye on the doctor. While she loves Gijinkas and Shifters, she had never wanted to become one herself.
